There is more written than anyone would ever want to read in terms of what strategies work best in therapy. The bottom line is that working with a counselor involves building a relationship.  This is so essential that research studies show time and time again that the therapist-client relationship has more of an impact on the effectiveness of therapy than the particular strategies and techniques the clinician uses.

That being said, I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), client centered therapy and interpersonal therapy to support individuals in pursuing their personal growth, finding their own answers and their own balance in life.  I tend to be informal and collaborative in my work with clients. I have a caseload filled with dynamic and wonderful women seeking to heal, grow, succeed, strengthen their relationships and be authentic to themselves and those around them. I enjoy working with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and identifying and resolving how someone’s past may be unconsciously impacting their day-to-day life.

I have specialized training working with women who are experiencing depression and anxiety related to infertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy and childbirth.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Atlanta, GA.  I am a member of The American Counseling Association, the Georgia Therapists Network and follow the ethical and best practice standards of my profession.  I also give  lectures and workshops related to mothering, perinatal mood disorders and women’s issues – especially work/life balance and working inside the home after career. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and support the different ways people become families.

On a personal note, I have a life outside of work and interests and hobbies. I am married and have four children and a very sweet dog. I enjoy creative writing and being active. I believe in mind-body-spirit wellness, and try, sometimes more successfully than others, to strike that balance in my own life.
